I think filing for bankruptcy 2 years ago actually physically hurt me.  Obviously, I was under a lot of stress at the time and I wasn’t always completely myself.  Waking up in the middle of the night with extreme stomach pain didn’t help.  I had developed 2 ulcers, which felt like my stomach was tearing itself apart from the inside.  Somehow, I managed to crawl across my bed and grab a phone to dial 911.  At the hospital’s emergency room, they gave me some kind of medicinal cocktail, which, after about an hour later, calmed and numbed the insides of my stomach and I could lie there peacefully.  A doctor prescribed me a large amount of Nexium and within a couple of weeks my ulcers had vanished.  Of course I didn’t need those medical bills along with my bankruptcy claim, but what could I do?  It’s not like I couldn’t have gone to the hospital.  Now it’s 2 years later and I think back on it and wish I had been calmer.  Things did turn out.  I went through the bankruptcy proceedings and my parents helped me out and eventually I found another job.  Back then, however, I had no idea what would happen.
