My writing partner, Zack, was born in Florida. His dad was a Tampa bankruptcy attorney, and despite the fact that he worked in Tampa, he raised Zack as a diehard Miami Dolphins fan. When he was very young, his family moved back to Chicago where his mom was originally from. Despite growing up in Chicago, Zack was brainwashed enough by his dad to remain a faithful Dolphins fan. This may have something to do with growing up during the peak of the career of Dan Marino. Similar to what any young Chicago kid around my age feels for Michael Jordan. Lately though, Zack has had a much harder time being a Dolphins fan. They have been absolutely awful as of late. There was a point where it was thought tat they may not even win a game during last season. It is nice that the Bears were recently in the Super Bowl, because it gives me a slight edge in trash talking, even though the Bears took a serious step back this past year. The Dolphins had the first pick in the draft this year, and they did not go with the exciting pick. Instead they took the smart pick, and drafted an offensive tackle. Hopefully he will help them get back to winning, because Zack does not enjoy getting ribbed about his favorite team.
